Motorcycles are/were the main transportation.

The school I attended until the 4th grade - Teachers were actually allowed to tap a child's hand with a ruler for misbehaving!! Kids these days in this country need that...lol
You will surely learn to climb a tree or two.

The things we do with no concerns!!! I have 2 bike burns to prove my loyalty to riding bikes anywhere I needed to go!
We can actually ride on the back of pickup trucks
and not get arrested for it.

And the Hotel staff will practically carry you out
if you need them too!

I felt like I was there :-) You really know how to tell a story with your pictures. I've been to several Caribbean islands, but not DR (I saw it from a distance once, on a cruise ship...LOL!)
